Hear World premieres of two exquisite song cycles by West Vancouver’s own Lloyd Burritt. Contemplate the moving poetry of Marilyn Lerch’s We Move Homeward and Robin Blaser’s mystical Winter Words in a Dark Love Song in the beautiful West Vancouver United Church sanctuary.
WE MOVE HOMEWARD, written for Edith Pritchard, mezzo soprano; West Vancouver United Church Choir, Gerald Van Wyck, conductor & piano, is based on three inspired poems by Canada’s Marilyn Lerch. Marilyn, who lives in Sackville New Brunswick, will join us for this premiere.
WINTER WORDS IN A DARK LOVE SONG will be premiered by VISI Guest Faculty Artists Julie Simson, mezzo soprano; Laura Loewen, piano & Geronimo Mendoza, english horn. This song cycle is based on five poems written by Vancouver’s Robin Blaser (1925-2009)
Julie Simson is the Head of Voice at the University of Colorado and premiered Nixon In China performing the second secretary on stage and on the CD recording.
